Three Minute Warning were formed in the early 1980s when the Cold War was still in full swing. We lived with the constant threat of nuclear annihilation and mad dictators roamed the Earth. Luckily, we live in a saner and more peaceful world now. The name came from the three minute warning which would sound if an atomic attack was imminent. On Saturday March 27, 1982 we were booked to play at Skunx, a London venue popular with skins and punks. When we saw the gig list, we noticed that a band called 4 Minute Warning were playing a week earlier and decided to change the band’s name to avoid confusion. After lengthy discussions we came up with the name Four Minds Crack, a lyric from the classic punk track "Action, Time, Vision" by Alternative TV, a band we all loved and listened to often.

Three Minute Warning/Four Minds Crack to be featured in A Country Fit for Heroes Vol II by Ian Glasper (Burning Britain) coming soon!
